Description
Boris Continuum Complete 7 AE brings nearly 200 filters to Macintosh and Windows versions of Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro CS5, CS4, and CS3. Version 7 features 11 new filters including a 3-way color corrector with built-in keying and masking tools, a new video noise reduction tool, a spline-based warp filter, an audio-driven keyframe generator, a new OpenGL particle engine, and still and video morph technology. Each BCC filter has been re-engineered to take advantage of 64-bit processing and OpenGL acceleration.

Support for 64-bit Host Applications
BCC 7 AE has been completely re-engineered to operate as a native 64-bit plug-in set for Adobe CS5. Thanks to the many computational efficiencies afforded by 64-bit processors, all BCC 7 AE filters run much faster under a 64-bit architecture.
A 32-bit version of BCC 7 is also available for use in CS4 and CS3.
Adobe After Effects Integration
Many BCC 7 AE filters include the ability to use Adobe After Effects' native lights, masks, and cameras. The result is filters that behave as though they are a native part of After Effects - whether you are working in a 2D or 3D composition. AE's native cameras and lights can be used to create dramatic scene lighting and wonderful fly-through animations, especially when used with new BCC 7 AE particle effects such as the Pin Art 3D or Particle 3D filters. 3D camera and light support is also available with the entire BCC 7 AE 3D Objects category of filters.
In addition to cameras and lights, BCC 7 AE's 3D text generator filters can use AE's native spline mask shapes as 3D paths along which the text can be animated or the shapes can be used to sculpt the sides or bevels of 3D text characters. Or you can use BCC Extruded Spline to generate custom 3D extruded shapes from any 2D AE mask shape. Because these filters are OpenGL hardware-accelerated, you can do all of the effects in real time. Additionally, almost every BCC 7 AE filter includes BCC's built-in PixelChooser matte and masking system. PixelChooser can use After Effects' native spline mask shapes to contain a filter effect to a specific region of the source image.
BCC 7 AE includes three brand-new filters - BCC Warp, BCC Morph, and BCC Video Morph - that utilize AE spline masks and the power of OpenGL to deliver real-time image warping and morphing.
System Requirements
The following memory requirements are recommended for both Macintosh and Windows users:
- Minimum 2GB (assigned to host application)
- Recommended 2GB+ (assigned to host application)
Macintosh
- Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger)
- Mac OS X 10.5.x (Leopard)
- Mac OS X 10.6.x (Snow Leopard)
Please note that the 5 filters in the BCC 3D Objects category require Intel Mac systems with Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
Windows
- Windows 2000
- Windows XP
- Windows Vista
Supported OpenGL Configurations
Currently Boris Continuum Complete includes two groups of filters that are OpenGL dependent. These groups are: BCC 3D Objects and BCC OpenGL. All of the filters that are in these groups are OpenGL-dependent. OpenGL is required to use these filters.
Working with OpenGL
Boris Continuum Complete’s OpenGL hardware acceleration speeds rendering for all filters in the BCC 3D Objects and the BCC OpenGL categories. OpenGL is a cross-platform standard that dramatically improves interactivity and rendering. “GL” stands for graphics library. ”Open” refers to the ongoing, industry-wide contributions to its evolution. OpenGL is built into both the Windows and Macintosh operating systems as well as a wide variety of display cards. More details about OpenGL are available from www.opengl.org
Currently Boris Continuum Complete includes several filters that are OpenGL dependent. These are:
BCC Glare, BCC Glint, BCC Glitter, BCC Lens Flare, BCC Lens Flare Advanced, BCC Damaged TV, BCC Scanline, BCC LED, BCC Prism, BCC 3D Extruded Image Shatter, BCC Extruded Text, BCC Extruded Spline, BCC Type-On Text, BCC Layer Deformer, BCC Lightning and BCC Tile Mosaic. OpenGL is required to use these filters.
OpenGL Acceleration Requirements
The first time you apply any of the OpenGL filters, BCC performs a fast, automatic test to look for the specific OpenGL capabilities. If your configuration passes this internal test, the filter opens with OpenGL enabled. If your configuration does not pass, an error message displays instead of the image, and OpenGL is disabled. However, depending on the error message, you may elect to enable OpenGL manually.
